About Recruitment
- The Border Security Force (BSF) is one of India's premier paramilitary forces, tasked with guarding the country's land borders during peacetime and preventing transnational crime.
- Currently, BSF is inviting applications for Junior Aircraft Maintenance Engineer and Assistant Commandant positions under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.
Salary
- For Junior Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, the salary will be as per pay matrix level 11 (Rs 67,700-208,700) as per the 7th CPC.
- For Assistant Commandant, the salary will be as per pay matrix level 10 (Rs 56,100-177,500) as per the 7th CPC.

- Applications should be submitted online via the BSF website http://rectt.bsf.gov.in. No other methods of submission will be accepted.
- Candidates need to complete the 'ONE TIME REGISTRATION' (OTR) by providing basic details like Name, Mobile Number, and Email ID.
- Use an active mobile number and email ID for the OTR process.
- After submitting the required information, candidates will receive their Registration ID and password via their mobile number and email.
- To apply for positions, click the 'APPLY HERE' link next to the relevant job advertisement.
- Carefully fill in the personal information on the application form.
- After entering all the information, preview the application form. If any corrections are needed, click "back."
- No changes can be made once the "submit" button is clicked.
- The application fee must be paid via Net banking, Debit Card, Credit Card, or at the nearest Common Service Centre. Applications will not be processed without the fee payment.
- Once the fee is successfully paid, the application process will be complete. Candidates should print out the application form for their records.
Selection Procedure
- For Junior Aircraft Maintenance: The selection procedure consists of three stages. In Stage-I, candidates have to take a written examination consisting of two papers. The first paper is objective type with 100 questions worth 100 marks, to be completed in 1 hour and 30 minutes.
- The second paper is subjective type with 10 questions worth 100 marks, to be completed in 2 hours.
- Candidates who qualify in the first stage will be called for Stage-II, which consists of a Physical Standard Test (PST), document verification, and an Oral cum Practical test.
- The third stage includes an interview and medical examination. The interview is worth 50 marks, and the minimum qualifying marks will be 50% of the total marks.
- After completing all stages, a merit list will be drawn, and candidates will be selected based on this merit list.
- For Assistant Commandant: The selection procedure consists of three stages. In Stage-I, candidates have to take a written examination consisting of two papers. The first paper is objective type with 100 questions worth 100 marks, to be completed in 2 hours.
- The second paper is subjective type with 10 questions worth 100 marks, to be completed in 2 hours.
- Candidates who qualify in the first stage will be called for Stage-II, which consists of a Physical Standard Test (PST), document verification, and a Physical Efficiency Test (PET).
