About Recruitment

The Indian Air Force (IAF) is the aerial branch of the Indian Armed Forces, tasked with safeguarding Indian airspace and conducting aerial warfare during conflicts.
The IAF has evolved into one of the most formidable air forces in the world, equipped with modern aircraft and highly trained personnel.
Currently, the Indian Air Force is inviting applications for the position of Group “Y” Medical Assistant.
The selected candidate will be enrolled for 20 years (based on service conditions), which can be extended to the age of 57 years.
Initially, candidates will be sent to Joint Basic Phase Training (JBPT) at Basic Training Institute. Upon successful completion of the training, candidates will be sent to trade training for the specific duration.
Training is liable to be terminated if candidates at any time fail to achieve the required standards in academics, profession, or physical fitness.
After successful completion of all stages of training, the airmen will be deployed as per IAF requirements. For detailed information regarding the position, eligibility criteria, and salary, please refer to the official notification attached.

Salary

During training, candidates will receive a stipend of Rs. 14,600 per month.
After successful completion of the training, candidates will be given the starting minimum scale of pay, including Military Service Pay (MSP) of Rs. 26,900 per month.
Other allowances such as Transport Allowance, Composite Personal Maintenance Allowance (CPMA), Leave Ration Allowance (LRA), Children Education Allowance, HRA, etc., will be admissible to Airmen as per relevant government instructions.

How to apply

For registration in the rally, candidates have to visit the official website https://agnipathvayu.cdac.in/AV/ before June 5, 2024.
After successful registration, candidates have to log in and fill the required details carefully.
Once the application is completed, candidates can proceed for the online payment of the fees.
Upon completion of the payment, candidates will receive an invoice of the payment. Candidates can download the application form for future reference.
Only registered candidates will be awarded a provisional admit card to appear in the Recruitment rally.

Selection Procedure

The selection of candidates will be through Physical Fitness Test (PFT), Written Test, Adaptability Test-II, and Medical Examination.
Physical Fitness Test (PFT) consists of a 1.6Km run to be completed in 7 minutes for Medical Assistant trade (10+2) and 7 minutes 30 seconds for Medical Assistant trade (Diploma / B.Sc in Pharmacy), followed by 10 push-ups, 10 sit-ups, and 20 squats within the stipulated time in order to qualify the Physical Fitness test.
All candidates who qualify the PFT test will undergo a written test. The paper is objective type and has to be completed within 45 minutes. The test includes 10+2 grade English, Reasoning & General Awareness (RAGA) questions. Candidates have to qualify each paper separately. 0.25 marks will be deducted for wrong answers.
Candidates who qualify the above tests will undergo Adaptability Test-II to select candidates who can adapt to the environment of the Indian Air Force and are able to adjust to the Military way of life.
Qualified candidates will undergo a Medical Examination in the month of July 2024 at SMC, Air Force Station Ambala.
