About Recruitment

  • The Indian Army stands as the primary land-based branch and the largest constituent of the Indian Armed Forces.
  • Its foremost responsibility is to ensure the security of the nation's borders and to counter external threats.
  • In addition to upholding India's territorial integrity and sovereignty, it also plays a pivotal role in supporting civil authorities during natural disasters and internal security challenges.
  • Presently, the Indian Army is inviting applications for the 140th Technical Graduate Course scheduled to commence in January 2025 at the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun.
  • Those candidates who are selected will undergo training at the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun, based on their position in the final order of merit.
  • The training duration spans 12 months.
  • During the training period, candidates are prohibited from marrying or residing with their parents/guardians.
  • If a Gentleman Cadet is withdrawn from the Training Academy due to reasons other than medical grounds or circumstances beyond their control, they will be obligated to reimburse the training cost at a rate of ₹ 16,260/- per week.

How to apply

  • Applicants must either be citizens of India or subjects of Nepal.
  • Candidates who are in their final year and whose final exams are scheduled after January 1, 2025, are not eligible to apply for this course.
  • Providing the Aadhaar number and matriculation certificate is mandatory for registration on the website.
  • Applications will solely be accepted through the online portal available at www.joinindianarmy.nic.in.
  • Navigate to 'Officer Entry Apply/Login' and then proceed to 'Registration'. If already registered on www.joinindianarmy.nic.in, there is no need for further registration.
  • After registration, carefully fill out the online registration form. Subsequently, click on 'Apply Online' under Dashboard.
  • Access the 'Eligibility' section under Officers Selection and click 'Apply' for the Technical Graduate Course. Follow the instructions on the 'Application Form' page, providing personal information, communication details, educational background, and previous SSB details.
  • Remember to click 'Save & Continue' before moving to the next segment.
  • Upon completion of all segments, review your information on the 'Summary of your information' page. Make any necessary edits and then click 'Submit'.
  • It is essential for candidates to click on 'Submit' each time they access the application for editing purposes.
  • Thirty minutes after the final closure of online applications on the last day, candidates should obtain two copies of their application with the assigned Roll Number.
  • No modifications can be made to the details submitted in the online application after the application closure.
  • Each candidate is permitted to submit only one online application. Submission of multiple applications by the same candidate will lead to the cancellation of candidature, and no appeals will be entertained.
  • The selection process will involve shortlisting and an interview.
  • Shortlisting will be based on the cutoff applied in each stream, considering the cumulative percentage of marks obtained by candidates up to the final semester/year.
  • Only shortlisted eligible candidates meeting the cutoff percentage will be interviewed at one of the Selection Centres.
