About Recruitment
- The Indian Navy stands as a modern and formidable naval force, crucially safeguarding India's maritime interests, protecting its coastline, and projecting power in the Indian Ocean region.
- It boasts a diverse fleet of ships, submarines, and aircraft, all equipped with advanced technology and weaponry, including aircraft carriers, destroyers, frigates, corvettes, submarines, patrol vessels, and maritime reconnaissance aircraft.
- The primary objective of the Indian Navy is to secure the nation's maritime borders, enhance maritime security through surveillance and patrols, and maintain peace and stability in the region.
- The Indian Navy is currently seeking unmarried male and unmarried female candidates for various MR and SSR Agniveer positions.
- Agniveers will be enrolled in the Indian Navy under the Navy Act 1957 for a period of four years.
- Agniveers will hold a distinct rank, different from any other existing rank, and will be the junior-most rank in the Indian Navy.
- They will be entitled to 30 days of leave per year, with additional sick leave based on medical advice from competent medical authorities.
- Upon completion of four years of service, Agniveers will have the opportunity to apply for permanent enrollment in the Indian Navy, based on organizational requirements and policies.
- Agniveers will not be permitted to request release prior to completing their engagement period.

Salary
- Agniveers will receive a package of ₹30,000 per month with a fixed yearly increment, along with risk and hardship, dress, and travel allowances.
- They will also receive a one-time Seva Nidhi package of 10.04 Lakhs, comprising their monthly contribution along with matching government contribution, upon completion of their engagement period.
- Agniveers will be provided with non-contributory life insurance cover of Rs. 48 lakh for the duration of their engagement period.
- Additionally, in the event of death attributable to service, the next of kin will receive a one-time ex-gratia payment of Rs. 44 lakhs, in addition to the insurance cover of Rs. 48 lakhs.
How to apply
- Only unmarried Indian male and female candidates are eligible for enrollment as Agniveers in the Indian Navy.
- To apply online, candidates must visit the official website of the Indian Navy at https://agniveernavy.cdac.in.
- If already registered, click on the Apply button and fill in the required details in the application form.
- First-time users and those not registered on the official website must register themselves.
- Candidates must provide their own mobile number and email ID during registration, as these will be used for all future communications until the selection process is complete.
- After logging in, candidates should fill out the application form with correct details. Providing incorrect information at any stage of the recruitment will result in the cancellation of the candidature.
- Candidates should avoid submitting multiple applications, as this will result in the cancellation of their candidature.
- Candidates will be provided 3 days post-closing of the application for corrections in the application details.
- Candidates can fill the application form at Common Service Centers (CSC) across the country by paying a fee of Rs. 60.
Selection Procedure
- The selection of candidates will be in two stages: Stage-I Indian Navy Entrance Test and Stage-II Physical Fitness Test (PFT), Written Examination, and Medical Examination.
- Stage-I Indian Navy Entrance Test for MR will be computer-based, consisting of 50 questions carrying 50 marks, with a duration of 30 minutes and for SSR 100 question carrying 100 marks with the duration of the 1 hour.
- The paper will be bilingual (Hindi & English) and of objective type, covering topics from 10th-grade 'Science & Mathematics' and General Awareness for MR postions and 12th based English, Science, Mathematics and General Awareness for SSR position.
- Candidates must pay an examination fee of Rs. 550 online. Upon successful payment, they will receive the admit card.
- Shortlisted candidates from Stage-I will be called for Stage-II examination, including PFT, written examination, and Recruitment Medical Test.
- Candidates must qualify the written exam. The syllabus, marks, and duration will be informed by the Indian Navy on the official website.
- Candidates must clear the Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and Medical Examination.
- The final selection of candidates will be based on Stage-II examination and qualification in the PFT and Medical examination.
